Combined with a simple yet appropriate guitar part, Use Somebody is a very complete and enjoyable song. Its message that we all have special people we need in our lives is touching as well. Use Somebody shows off lead singer Caleb’s great raspy voice, and it’s currently the most played song on my iTunes*. Use Somebody and Sex on Fire were played constantly on the radio, and they quickly became some of my favorite songs. Caleb is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Nathan is the drummer, Jared is the bassist, and their cousin Matthew is the lead guitarist and this family affair has produced some great music in recent years.īefore I knew much about the band, I knew them for their singles.
Interestingly, however, they all go by their middle names: Caleb, Nathan, Jared, and Matthew respectively. I was very surprised to learn that when I found out, but looking at the members’ names makes that pretty clear: Anthony, Ivan, Michael, and Cameron Followill. The band is comprised of 4 family members: 3 brothers and their cousin. Kings of Leon is unique in that the band in a lot of ways, not the least being their composition. This week, I’m back to covering a band, and one that has put out some great singles over the past several years: Kings of Leon.
